  1. 11. Put a CRIMSON D on the forehead of anyone who, in error, refers to DU’s colors as maroon(eww) and gold not the correct CRIMSON AND GOLD.

  3. My resolutions for the major DU teams:

    1. HOCKEY: No more scheduling of any hockey series around New Years. The team is often missing key guys at the world juniors or plays pretty flat after X-mas vacation or both. And get the goalscoring above 3GPG – this is where a better power play can really help in the stretch drive.

    2. Men’s BASKETBALL: Shoot 250 practice free throws per player per day, until each player retires from basketball. Should result in at least 3 extra wins in a year. And focus on reducing turnovers, too.

    3. Men’s LACROSSE: Figure out clears until they become automatic, tighten the defense, and don’t lose to lesser teams. Everything else is great.

    4. Men’s SOCCER: Without Dunk, Ford, Hanlin and Hamilton next year, Pios will need to plan out a new central defense, new backs moving forward, new ball-winning at mid-field and new set pieces. Plenty work to do, boys.

    1. Nothing announced…but the word behind the scenes is that he is gone. We’ll miss him – great guy/player.

      1. MLS…He is an alumni of the Colorado Rapids Academy and he is viewed as a top talent. Not sure about the signing bonus but his starting salary would be 65-90K and $10-25k signing bonus based on MLS figures. You make a good point – especially if he wants to return to DU and complete his degree.
