North Dakota fans make Mile High plans

It’s no secret that the North Dakota hockey fans travel in large numbers to Denver for the Pioneer – Fighting Hawks hockey series – and this year is no different. LetsGoDU set out to learn North Dakotan’s travel plans and here is what we found:

According to his Facebook post, Jim & Betsy will set out from Velva, North Dakota for Denver on Tuesday for their dream vacation. 

Local Cherry Creek State Park rangers are monitoring a former North Dakota encampment. The Fighting Hawks and their fans did not travel to Denver this past season.

Brenda and Scott Droplinger from Gackle, North Dakota celebrated their nuptials two months ago but delayed honeymoon plans until “Denver Week”.

Scott spent the last three weeks making his honeymoon ride “street legal”.

A recent DUI charge will not deter fan Derryl Parker from Loma, North Dakota from making the trip to Denver. He left his home five days ago.

Fans are in high gear as they prepare for their travels to the ‘Big City’

However, some fans are reluctant to leave their homes. Jeb Schmidt, a resident of Bowbells, says, “I love the Hawks but I can’t leave the comforts of home.”
