Many of you may remember the University of North Carolina academic scandal when the NCAA announced last fall that they would not punish the Tar Heels basketball team because both athletes and non-athletes were participating in sham classes for academic credit.
The CC Tigers have taken advantage of this loophole and are offering classes deemed as ‘less stressful’ during the Hockey season by offering a winter block called, “How Children’s Stories Reflect Real Life”. Students were given one book to read and asked to write one sentence on how the story related to their lives. The Colorado College student newspaper, The Catalyst, featured five hockey players final papers. The players’ names were redacted from the story.
