Denver Earns Wire-to-Wire Win Over Michigan, 16-11

#5 seed Denver men’s lacrosse (12-3, 5-0) faced Michigan on Saturday afternoon at Peter Barton Stadium. DU was coming off a tough BIG EAST loss to Villanova. The Wolverines entered the game following a Big 10 Tournament win and four straight victories. Excluding the first eight minutes of the third quarter and a handful of faulty clears, Denver played nearly a flawless game. Denver never trailed and coasted to a decisive five-goal win, 16-11. DU’s Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse NCAA Tournament Matchups Set

It was likely that DU men’s (11-3, 5-1) lacrosse would play at home but a mystery if Denver women’s (15-3, 5-0) lacrosse team would be home or have to go on the road for the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Fast Start by Villanova Sinks DU in BIG EAST Conference Semifinal

#4 ranked/#1 seed Denver men’s lacrosse (11-3, 5-1) traveled to Villanova, Pennsylvania to face the Wildcats in a BIG EAST Conference semifinal tilt Thursday afternoon. Denver lost their clean sheet against conference rivals, falling to the unranked Wildcats 10-9 and missing out on the BIG EAST finals. Denver Sweeps Regular Season Titles in Lacrosse and Earns NCAA Bids in Tennis

DU’s run of athletic success extended another week. DU men’s and women’s lacrosse earned road victories this weekend, securing regular season Big EAST  titles. Denver’s men’s and women’s tennis teams won regular season conference titles and coasted through their Summit League Tournaments this weekend to advance to the NCAA tournament. Yale Posts Win over #1 Denver, 15-13

It was the second-largest crowd in the history of Peter Barton Stadium but, despite the crowd noise, the sound of shots clanking of the goal cage posts could be heard around the stadium all game long. Both teams experienced painful near-misses but DU (5-1) had more than their fair share of post shots in the frustrating home loss. Yale seemed to have the upper hand most of the afternoon and Denver could never make the needed scoring run to catch the Bulldogs in the final quarter. Denver Rides Frantic Fourth Quarter to 17-16 Win Over Cornell

Denver men’s lacrosse (4-0) played the Cornell Big Red Saturday afternoon at a sold-out Peter Barton Stadium. Denver trailed 14-12 heading into the final quarter and outscored Cornell 5-2 to steal the win. JJ Sillstrop started the comeback. Noah Manning added a pair of clutch goals to draw even. Ryan Giles netted his first goal of the season to put DU up 16-15. Richie Connell scored the man-up goal to give Denver a two-goal margin at 4:55 and Denver’s defense allowed one goal down the stretch to the Big Red. New Look Men’s Lacrosse Features Familiar Faces in 2024

It’s not too early to start the hot stove discussions around DU men’s lacrosse.

When looking at the 2024 team, it starts with two new coaching positions. First, newly elevated head coach Matt Brown, a DU alum and former assistant coach, replaced the iconic Bill Tierney. Second, Brown is joined by David Metzbower former North Carolina, Loyola, and Princeton offensive coordinator who is a legendary coach in his own right.
