DU leaves Billikens Blue

On a beautiful Colorado night, interrupted by a brief drizzle and lightning delay, the Denver Pioneers dominated with two first half goals and cruised to a convincing 2-0 victory over the University of St Louis Billikens. The outcome was never in doubt as DU dominated in possession and shots.

At 36:10 of the first half DU got on the board on a header by Kortne Ford, his first goal of the season. Karston Hanlin was credited with an assist. The second goal was scored by Blake Elder at 40:49 mark following a 40 minute weather delay. Captain Sam Hamilton and Graham Smith assisted on the tally.

Denver out-shot the Billikens 9-0 and dominated in corner kicks 6-1.

The match got chippy at times as St Louis struggled to stop DU possessions. Two yellow cards were issued during the match to the Billikens.

The 8th ranked Pioneers moved to 6-0-1. DU faces North Florida 7:00 Saturday night, September 17th @ CIBER Field.
