WATCH: Jim Montgomery talks Omaha sweep, power play effectiveness

Last night, the #3 Denver Pioneers finished off the sweep of the #18 Omaha Mavericks with a 5-0 shutout to pull into a tie with UMD at the top of the NCHC standings. This weekend was probably the best two-game stretch of the year for Denver and head coach Jim Montgomery was rather pleased with his team’s overall effort on the weekend.

Denver’s special teams were the focus of the weekend, scoring four power play goals while holding Omaha’s very potent power play unit to just one goal in 12 opportunities.

Montgomery talked about that and more after last night’s game. Watch his discussion with the media below:

Denver has next weekend off before their final home-and-home series of the season with Colorado College on February 10 (Denver) and 11 (Colorado Springs).
