Women’s soccer earned a win and a tie on the road, DU volleyball split in South Dakota and DU men’s soccer earned a tie at home in conference action.

Denver women’s soccer (6-4-2, 2-0-1). Denver traveled Thursday to St. Paul to take on the Tommies of St. Thomas University. Kaitlyn Glover gave Denver a 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the first half. St. Thomas countered with a tally in the second half but Glover fed Jordan Crockett the game-winner at the 64 -minute mark, 2-1, Denver. On Sunday afternoon, DU outplayed UNO at Omaha but could only salvage a 0-0 draw. Denver held an 18-11 shots advantage and 5-3 shots-on-goal edge.

DU men’s soccer (5-2-4, 1-0-1) got beat on the road Monday night by Pitt, 3-1. The Panthers scored the first two goals of the first half and coasted to the win. Denver was outshot (SOG) 6-3 in the match. The Pioneers returned home Saturday night to Pioneer Field and led Oral Roberts,1-0, on a David Biggers goal late in the first half.  It is often a high-wire act with Denver holding a one-goal lead and this game was no different. ORU’s Jose Estrada solved the Denver defense in the final seven minutes with a goal to forge a 1-1 conference tie.

Women’s volleyball went to South Dakota on a hot streak, winning 3 of 4 matches. Denver took down South Dakota State 3-1 Thursday and fell to South Dakota 3-0 Saturday. Gianna Bartalo had 15 digs and it was the Cadi Boyer show with 12 kills, 3 aces, and 6 blocks in the SDSU win. Denver was handily swept in Vermillion by the USD Yotes. The University of South Dakota has now become the gold standard in the Summit League volleyball, a spot once reserved for DU volleyball.

In Triathlon at the Black Hills Collegiate Cup, Denver placed three athletes in the Top 10 led by Maria Carreau in second place. Seven Division I and II teams competed Sunday with DU joining host South Dakota, San Francisco, Black Hills State, Cal Poly, Humboldt, Colorado Mesa and MSU Billings.
