Denver women’s lacrosse (2-1) returned to Peter Barton Stadium and faced The Ohio State Buckeyes on a sun-drenched Friday afternoon. DU raced out to a 4-1 first-quarter, an 8-1 edge at halftime and coasted to a 14-5 win against the OSU Buckeyes.
Grad student Julia Gilbert led the Pioneer scoring with four goals. Freshman Olivia Ripple had a hat trick in a dominating display of scoring and defense.
Denver had 31 shots on goal to only 10 for The Ohio State University. DU got to seventeen ground balls, out-hustling Ohio State with six. The Pioneers also forced 15 turnovers. Goalie Emelia Bohi saved 5 of 10 shots to secure the win.
