DU women’s volleyball (7-6) had a mixed week, defeating Air Force 3-0 before traveling to Greeley for a pair of 3-0 losses to Northern Colorado and Utah. More significantly, Denver hosts its very first West Coast Conference (WCC) match against Pacific this Thursday at 6:00 pm at Hamilton Gym.
DU Men’s Soccer (1-5-1) wraps up the non-conference portion of its schedule against Creighton at Pioneer Field on Tuesday, September 22nd at 6pm MT. DU’s first-ever WCC match will be on Saturday (9/26) at 6pm MT at the University of San Diego.
Thursday night, DU women’s soccer (1-5-2) dropped a 2-1 decision to Air Force. It was a chippy game that could have gone either way. They open WCC play Saturday against St. Mary’s at Pioneer Field at 7:00 pm MT.
Preseason hockey polls and all-conference teams are beginning to be announced. Earlier in the week, the NCHC released its own preseason all-conference selections, voted on by conference media members, with three players from North Dakota and Minnesota Duluth named. No DU players earned preseason honors. Go figure. Denver was, however, voted by the same media members to finish #1 in the conference in a close vote. North Dakota was selected at #2 and UMD at #3.
