WATCH: Jim Montgomery talks cooling off the Sun Devils

The #3 University of Denver Pioneers didn’t come out playing head coach Jim Montgomery’s preferred style of relentless Pioneer hockey against the Arizona State Sun Devils last night. But they overcame their poor start and early 1-0 deficit to skate ASU out of the building and win 5-1.

Montgomery, always one to give a good quote, talked about his team’s performance last night and how pleased he was with his team’s response in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Watch his postgame media scrum below:

The Pioneers and Sun Devils hit the ice again tonight at Magness Arena. The Pioneers will honor American Hero Troy Terry during the game for his incredible performance at the World Junior Championship. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

  1. Game sold out apparently. Which used to be run of the mill, now rarer. Perhaps Troy Terry (American hero) is drawing the crowd! Looking forward to it, let’s hope DU stomps the Sun Devils.
