Converting University of Michigan’s Pain into Denver’s Gain

The University of Michigan has recently spent more than $19 million  directly tied to Wolverine Athletic Department malfeasance. Here is what you could purchase in Denver with the Wolverines’ wasted cash:

  • $5 million – A five bedroom Breckenridge private residence at Imperial Chalets located on Peak 8 with ski in/ski out convenience and European amenities.

Balance: 3.7 Million

  • $2.5 million – Estimated cost for naming rights for the new Summit FC soccer stadium at Santa Fe Yards near South Broadway and I-25.

Balance: $1.2 million

  • $600k – Get on the waiting list at Porsche Littleton for the new Porsche Mission S Supercar

Balance: $600k

  • $599,986k – Oster Jewelers at Cherry Creek are offering this one-of-a-kind Audemars Piquet Grande Complication time piece.

Balance: $14.00

  • $13.89 – Chicago style hot dog ($8.00) and small fries and medium drink ($5.89) at Mustards Last Stand on University.

  1. The Michigan article (via link) is very interesting. The writer covers the Big 10 and the Big 10 Network was an absolute gold mine for these schools. It’s almost like play money and all the alumni just want to win, almost at any cost! Thanks for highlighting this. No accountability.

  2. another case of MICHIGAN taxpayer excess on point.. at last year’s NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY OFFS MICHIGAN TURNED UP WITH NOT ONE BUT TWO U OF M SCHOOL BANDS” ONE APPARENTLY DEDICATED TO JUST THE HOCKEY TEAM”……. How much money are Michigan taxpayers spending on the taxpayer funded U of M hockey team lust to play their catchy Michigan fight song after each goal

While” poor Private DU with no taxpayer support that I KNOW OF )” had to rely on a rented local VAGAS (?) High School Band to pay DU’s equally catchy victory song AFTER EACH GOAL . while DU’s fight song was heard more often during their the game and during THE National Championships

ALSO CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY IT HAS TAKEN OVER 45 YEARS (SINCE 1981) FOR MICHIGAN TO SHOW UP AT DU TO PLAY HOCKEY?? ( TWO OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL HOCKEY Programmes EVER?

    cheers , tf88conlon@aol.com ………. Bromley KENT, England
