With the addition of six former CHL players, Colorado College’s latest wave of Canadian Major Junior players is adjusting to their new academic environment. In addition to flying pucks and hard hits on the boards, they face the risk of kiln explosions, high-pressure poetry jams, and exposure to watercolor fumes. Still, the players continue to exhibit passion both on the ice and in the classroom on the Colorado College campus.
One hockey newcomer was impressed with the width and breadth of offerings at the small liberal arts college. “I never knew about the Puppet Arts when I was playing with the Calgary Hitmen. Sometimes, we would make sock puppets on long bus trips, but we didn’t get block credit!”
However, the artistic energy and passion do not stop there.
Another Colorado College CHL recruit spread his wings and pushed his boundaries – while his former CHL team focused solely on hockey. The Movement Arts were a natural choice, which complements the physicality of both hockey and dance.
Another high-major recruit is leveraging his art studies at CC along with Name Image & Likeness (NIL) while crafting drawings for sale in the marketplace. “A great start so far. This one sold for $12,500 to the Robson family!”
DU men’s hockey faces the CC Tigers on Friday night at 7:00 pm MT in The Springs. The teams play Saturday night at the same time at Magness Arena to complete the home-and-home season series.

Love this creativity especially the hockey player starting to master puppeteering all the way from Calgary to Colorado Springs.
