In case you missed it over the weekend, the University of Denver men’s soccer team topped UNLV 3-0 at CIBER Field to advance to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. This victory marked the first time since 1970 that the Pioneers won a match in the NCAA Tournament.
Head coach Jamie Franks is all-in on this squad. He loves what each and every one of his players brings to the table and what they can accomplish together on the pitch. His confidence is obvious and while we’ve been focusing on the smaller goals like winning the Summit League and winning a game in the NCAA Tournament, it’s clear that Franks and his players have a different goal in mind:
DU wants to win the College Cup.
Franks believes this team can do that. After becoming the first program in 38 years to go unbeaten in two straight regular seasons, the Pios have their eyes on the biggest prize in the sport.

Denver plays Washington in the Round of 16 at 5PM on Saturday evening at CIBER Field. This match occurs right before the DU-Wisconsin hockey game at Magness Arena. Yes, the soccer game will be over in plenty of time for the masses to head into Magness for the hockey game. You don’t want to miss this soccer game.
