Following opening home games against Cleveland State and Air Force, Denver men’s lacrosse fans will be treated to a full-course of lacrosse excellence against Cornell, Michigan and Syracuse to fill out the non-conference slate at Peter Barton Stadium.
The road for Matt Brown, staff and his Pioneers is not an easy one. They travel to play Utah, Ohio State and Duke in non-conference play. The biggest non-surprise is Duke’s hesitancy to come out west to play the Pioneers. Ditto Notre Dame who used to be a regular home-and-home opponent for the Pioneers.
Still, this should be one of the most challenging schedules for Denver. USA Lacrosse preseason poll Top 20 Teams include: #2 Syracuse, #4 Georgetown (Big EAST), #6 Cornell, #8 Duke, #11 Ohio State and #20 Michigan. Denver is listed as ‘also considered’ in the early-season poll.
The season starts on January 31st at Peter Barton against Cleveland State.
Very tough schedule, compared to recent years.
Syracuse hasn’t been out to Denver since the early 2000s!
Looking forward to it…
Ouch. That schedule looks brutal. I hope this DU team can stay afloat.
