WATCH: Bill Tierney talks Denver’s 15-13 exhibition loss to Canada

The University of Denver Men’s Lacrosse team played the Canadian National Lacrosse Team today at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The Canadians emerged victorious, 15-13 thanks in large part to a 9-0 run that spanned the second and third quarters.

Trevor Baptiste left the game with a minor injury early and didn’t return to the game as a precaution. As a result, Canada was able to dominate the faceoff X and keep the Pioneers from doing much of anything offensively.

In the second half, the Pios were able to pull back within 1 on multiple occasions, but the back-and-forth affair ended up falling in favor of the Canadian National team.

Coach Tierney was pleased with what he saw and feels that they will be able to take today’s result and keep growing and getting better by the time the regular season starts in 2017.

  1. Pios were also without all-Americans Christian Burgdorf and Tyler Pace, so I am very happy with the result. Had Trevor Baptiste been able to stay in the game, I think the Pios would have won the game. All in all, Danny Logan really impressed me for a freshman. Pios will be very good this year…

  3. Nate Marano, Mr. in and out of the line-up. Did he play? Jaden Franklin would be a major asset if he becomes a top defensive middie. Defensive middies get no ink, but their value cannot be under estimated. In HS, they were combo players who were also great scorers. Nobody better then Jeremy Noble to teach Jaden the position. .
