According to an article Louisville students’ lawsuit against escort dismissed, a judge rightfully dismissed a student lawsuit against Katina Powell.
The four students sued madam Katina Powell, author of Breaking Cardinal Rules, for devaluing their education at Louisville. Ms. Powell filled the pipeline of escorts who provide special benefits to recruits, players, and even their parents and guardians. Many of these incentives were provided on the campus at the players’ basketball dormitory, Billy Minardi Hall . To add to the steaminess, Ms. Powell’s daughter was a part of the traveling troupe. While there is general agreement that the West Coast Conference is the best long-term fit for DU, the conference is currently facing its own issues.
The conference is a basketball-focused conference with three tiers – Gonzaga is in the first tier and their fans are frustrated with the WCC low low-level competition in the bottom tier, poor fan support and want to leave the conference if they can find a suitable conference fit. In the end, the University of Denver Pioneers’ loss to the Marquette University Golden Eagles in the BIG EAST Championship didn’t affect their seeding in the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament. Even if the Pioneers had won the BIG EAST Tournament, it is unlikely that they would have been the No. 1 overall seed ahead of the Maryland Terrapins. Powered by a seven-goal second half, the No. 19 Marquette University Golden Eagles topped the top-ranked University of Denver Pioneers for the first time in the short, 4-year history of Marquette lacrosse. The Eagles held Denver’s star attackman Connor Cannizzaro without a goal for the first time in almost 40 games and made life difficult for DU’s star FOGO by winning 12-of-23 at the X. We’ve heard this story before. A mid-major program outgrows its conference, has ambitious plans to grow, and nowhere to land.
Wichita State is looking to exit the Missouri Valley Conference for greener pastures – flush with an influx of University cash and a basketball program that has been making noise in March.
