Denver Basketball Media Day in Review

Denver held their annual Basketball Media Day (video) yesterday with a bit more than a week to go before opening tip-off. The staffs from both the Men’s and Women’s teams were present and answered the media’s questions. WATCH: Jim Montgomery discusses sweep of Western Michigan

The Pioneers swept Western Michigan this weekend with 3-1 and 4-2 victories at Magness Arena. Denver was the dominant team for much of the weekend, but Western’s clutch defense and timely offense kept them in both games right up until the final seconds of both games. Gambrell’s surprise return leads DU to victory over Western Michigan

In a last minute lineup change, #3 University of Denver Pioneers head coach Jim Montgomery decided to shake things up and insert previously injured star Dylan Gambrell into the lineup and start his line. WATCH: Bill Tierney talks Denver’s 15-13 exhibition loss to Canada

The University of Denver Men’s Lacrosse team played the Canadian National Lacrosse Team today at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The Canadians emerged victorious, 15-13 thanks in large part to a 9-0 run that spanned the second and third quarters. Early Look: Michigan State Spartans

The 6th-ranked University of Denver Pioneers will travel to East Lansing, Michigan to take on the Michigan State Spartans this weekend. After what has transpired over the last two weeks, going 0-2 and then sweeping one of the country’s most talented teams in Boston University, this will be another key weekend for the Pioneers on their way to forging their 2016-17 identity. Time to Renew Vows with the Summit League

We all know by now that the Big 12 is not expanding. BYU is not going anywhere. It was unlikely anyway that the Cougars would have moved all their sports programs from the West Coast Conference to the Big 12 anyway for a number of reasons.

Borgström’s two goals lift Pioneers to sweep of Terriers

How “sweep” it is for the soon-to-be-higher than 10th-ranked University of Denver Pioneers. Thanks to a clutch 3-1 victory, the Pioneers, who many had feared would come out of the weekend looking at a scary 0-4 record, swept arguably the best team in the country in the #2 Boston University Terriers. Denver Basketball held their annual Fan Jam Wednesday night with the men’s and women’s teams. It was an entertaining event with fan interaction and player contests.
