“Gwoz was fired.”

I received that text from a friend three years ago today. Three years ago today, April Fools’ Day, George Gwozdecky was fired as the head coach of the University of Denver hockey program. The 19 year tenure of the second-winningest coach in program history had unceremoniously ended. Continue reading On this Date in Denver History: April Fools’ Day 2013

If you’re traveling to Tampa for the Frozen Four, be sure to join LetsGoDU and BC Interruption for College Hockey Blogapalooza 2016. Along with LetsGoDU, staff from BC Interruption, reporters from Quinnipiac University, and other fans and writers will be joining in the fun.

The plan is to start the evening’s festivities at the Hobey Baker Award Ceremony, which starts at 6 PM at the historic Tampa Theatre. Immediately following the ceremony, we will take a short ride from the theatre to the Tampa Bay Brewing Company in Ybor City. If you don’t plan on attending the Hobey Baker Award ceremony but want to join us at the brewery, we will likely be arriving around 7:30.

Tampa Bay Brewing Company is located at 1600 East 9th Avenue in Tampa. They have a great menu of drinks and food that fits any taste or preference. This is something you will not want to miss!!

For more information, be sure to head over to BC Interruption’s announcement. Also be sure to follow @LetsGoDU, @BC Interruption, and @g_riggi on Twitter for updates throughout the week.

We’ll see you next Friday!

Many of them argue that they have lost three in a row so they must be ‘due’ for another national title. However, behind the scenes, the question must be asked – Could UND hockey become this era’s version of the Buffalo Bills (1990-1993)? Or better yet, the Atlanta Braves? With the No. 7 University of Denver’s NCAA Tournament first-round game with No. 12 Boston University later today, we thought that doing a Q&A with a BU blogger would be a great way to gain insight into BU’s program and how they might match up with DU.

Thanks to the willingness of Matt Pereira with BayState (Road) Sports to do this feature, we were able to get some key questions answered. They did the same with us and here is their Q&A with me. Here’s the conversation: Continue reading Denver-BU Q&A Preview with BayState (Road) Sports
