UPDATE: Denver Officially Unveils Battle on Blake Sweater

Earlier on Tuesday, when practice ended, the University of Denver hockey program posted a video on Instagram of players seeing the uniforms they will wear on Saturday for the Battle on Blake for the first time. The smiles and excitement on the faces of the few players in the video were obvious.

The hockey program also tweeted a picture of 3rd line center, Gabe Levin modeling what the uniforms will look like on the ice.

As LetsGoDU reported earlier this week, Denver decided to go with a modified throwback look with their Battle on Blake look. They incorporated attributes from the 1949 team’s look and most teams from then on with the “Denver” arch across the chest.

Notice the stripes and the interlocking DU on the upper right chest. Both are incorporated in the Battle on Blake uniforms (below).

There are a number of similarities between this photo and what DU will be wearing on Saturday. The stripes on the arms and on the socks (see photo of Levin) will both be incorporated on Saturday while the interlocking DU will be on the shoulders of Saturday’s sweaters.

The Denver Hockey program announced today through Twitter that Battle on Blake sweaters will not be available for sale until after the game, but they will be available. Pricing information has not been released, but it will likely be priced similarly to the current sweaters DU sells.

Keep following LetsGoDU for more Battle on Blake coverage throughout the rest of the week!
