RAPID REACTION: Denver Powers By Miami 5-2

Denver (21-6-4, NCHC 13-3-3-2)  was held scoreless the first period but used two power play goals in the second period from Dylan Gambrell and American hero Troy Terry to give DU a 2-0 advantage entering the third period. Miami (9-14-6, NCHC 5-10-4-2) countered in the 3rd with goals by  Miami’s Zach Lavalle and Jared Brandt to even the contest at 2-2 at the 9:31 mark. Will Butcher scored off a face-off on 4×4 action to gave Denver the lead 3-2 at 13:56. Dylan Gambrell put the game on ice 4-2 at 16:22. Less than a minute later, with the Miami goalie pulled, Emil Romig got the open netter to make the final score 5-2.

  1. Big road win against an improving Miami team in Oxford, which has always been a tough place for the Pios to find wins. It’s great to see Gambrell heating up again after a bit of a slump for him, and to see the Pios take over the game down the stretch on the road.

    This DU team is getting into playoff form, and it’s exciting to see…
