Denver finished with a home win and a road loss Sunday afternoon.
Women’s soccer secured a 1-0 victory on Senior Day against North Dakota State at CIBER Field while Denver volleyball fell 3-1 in Vermillion, S.D..
At CIBER Field, Denver (11-4-3, 7-0-1) out-shot North Dakota State 15-2 and finally found net when Macee Barlow assisted senior Mary DeWalt at 69:51 in the second half for DeWalt’s first goal of the season – and the game winner.
#1 seed Denver women’s soccer now advances to play North Dakota in the semifinals of the Summit League Tournament on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 pm MT at CIBER Field. The finals will be played on Saturday at 11:00 am MT against either South Dakota State or Oral Roberts.
Second place Denver volleyball (17-7, 9-3) traveled to Vermillion, South Dakota and lost to league leader South Dakota (23-1, 12-0) Sunday afternoon 3-1. Denver won the first game 25-21. The second game went to extra points with South Dakota eking out the win 30-28. South Dakota finished off the Pioneers in the final two games 25-15, 25-16.
Denver finishes with three of their final four conference regular season games at Hamilton Gym before they host the Summit League Championships November 22nd-24th.
