Denver Beer Company on Track for Spring Opening

We told you about Denver Beer Compay opening a brewery and pub several months ago. Work is continuing at 2425 South Downing street on a new Denver Beer Company (DBC) site. The retail project is set to be completed in late spring and open shortly thereafter.

Located just west of the University of Denver campus, construction includes a  2,563-square-foot brewery and taproom that will be similar to DBC’s locations in LoHi and Olde Town Arvada, along with a 10,000-square-foot patio with a tiki bar, fire pits and yard games. According to reports, the brewery owners plan to have a permanent food setup and are considering an ice cream shop in a small building on the northeast corner of the property that was once home to Maddie’s Restaurant.

The facility will brew a rotating menu of seasonal offerings exclusive to the south Denver location, as well as a stable of Denver Beer Co. favorites like Incredible Pedal IPA, Graham Cracker Porter, and Juicy Freak Juicy IPA.

The DU neighborhood has a paucity of breweries with the closing of Fermaentra Brewery and Taproom on Evans. The closest current option is Platt Park Brewing at 1875 South Pearl Street.

  1. This will be an awesome addition to the neighborhood. Maybe a mile from campus. Having an established player in the beer world with a stable of delicious brews will be an asset for several neighborhoods….DU, Platte Park, and Wash Park included. I had the bourbon barrell aged version of their graham cracker porter this Christmas….tasty indeed

  2. Used to live near the DBC in LoHi. That place was always packed. Hope this brings a similar energy!
