Denver was leading by a narrow 7-6 margin at halftime Sunday afternoon at Peter Barton Stadium but used an explosive second half to blow by the Canisius Golden Griffins. The Pioneers scored eight consecutive goals in the third quarter before the Golden Griffins Jacob Buck stopped the bleeding. Denver went on to score five more consecutive goals to start the fourth period to hit the 20 goal mark before emptying their bench. Final score 20-9.

JJ Silstrop and Noah Manning each had three goals and an assist in the winning effort. Denver had 55 shots on goal, 31 on target, in their 20 goal effort. Canisius was 15-23 on clears while DU was a perfect 19 for 19. Denver did much better on ground balls this game with 31 wins to the Golden Griffins 34. DU was +7 on faceoff opportunities.
