  1. Can someone please explain how tonight’s tie breaker was decided between LSU and Michigan?

    1. Jill will probably explain better tomorrow. The judges counted all the scores instead of the mandatory 4 top scores.

    2. This is what I heard: So for tiebreaker, they take back in the one dropped scored in each rotation. Michigan girls are crying. They must know. They were in 1st going into the last rotation

  2. Dunker watched on ESPN +. It was so exciting. After the first 2 events, we were in last place. Then class kicked butt. We picked up points on the floor by doing great and others doing just so so. We nailed the beam. Announcers were on top of it. Before our final competitor (I think Hutchinson) went to work, the broadcasters did their math and announced: Denver has moved into first place and cannot be caught. Pleasingly stunning words. Go Pios

  3. I am of two minds on this – part of me is a thrilled DU fan and I am very happy that DU did well at crunch time without a top gymnast in the lineup to advance to Ft Worth and the final 8.

The other side of me believes that advancing out of a regional that DU hosts should be the expectation for this program. The Pios are a high-level program that had already scored a 198+ this season at home and has scored 197s on the road – clearly showing that they have the quality of athletes to qualify from their home floor.

DU took fourth in 2019 NCAAs which is the high water mark for the Pios in NCAA competition. Can they get to the podium in 2023?

    Why not?
