Multisport athlete, Liv Moritz, scored for Denver women’s soccer at 51:25 of the second half. The tally was placed in the upper left corner of the goal and pulled DU even with the visiting CSU Rams. Denver went on to a 1-1 draw vs the CSU Rams Thursday night.
Moritz, from Vail, Colorado, is a member of the US Alpine Ski Team and competed at the 2023 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships and the US Alpine Championships. Moritz will compete for the Denver Ski Team this upcoming season. DU men’s athletics have had several multisport athletes including Lukas Dora who played soccer and hockey while TJ Fast played hockey and lacrosse in the early 2005-2006 seasons. However, based on our research, she is the first female multisport athlete to compete for DU since the Pioneers returned to DI athletics in 1999.

CSU got off to a fast start in the first 45 minutes, out-shooting Denver 11-2 with three shots on goal. Olivia Fout put CSU on the board at 29:30 on a low shot that passed DU freshman keeper Molly Wissman. Wissman made several spectacular saves to keep the game close. Denver outshot the Rams in the second half 7-6 with two shots on target by each side.
Moritz’s timely goal was scored in Denver’s first match at Pioneer Field of the 2023 season. Next up for Denver is a trip to Colorado Springs this Sunday at 12 pm MT to take on the Colorado College Tigers.
You forgot our girl Lindsay Cone. Skiing and golf.
Good catch! Keep ‘em coming
Emily Pincus was top 25 for women’s triathlon at Nationals and as a swimmer she was a Summit League Individual Champion and part of the winning Women’s Summit League Championships in the 2021-2022 season.
Thanks for adding Emily to the list of DU multisport athletes. We had to fire our research staff.
