DU’s run of athletic success extended another week. DU men’s and women’s lacrosse earned road victories this weekend, securing regular season Big EAST titles. Denver’s men’s and women’s tennis teams won regular season conference titles and coasted through their Summit League Tournaments this weekend to advance to the NCAA tournament.
#12 Denver women’s lacrosse (12-3, 5-0) overcame a four-goal deficit to secure a road win against the Villanova Wildcats. Denver outscored Villanova 8-1 in the second half, led by two goals by Sloane Kipp in the third quarter and a pair of tallies by Julia Gilbert. The win cemented DU’s fifth consecutive Big EAST title. Denver has a big non-conference game against #10 Yale on Monday at 12:30 pm MT before returning home to face Xavier on Saturday, April 27th to conclude the regular season. #7 Denver men’s lacrosse (10-2, 4-0) won a tight contest against Providence 7-4. It was a defensive struggle with Denver holding the Friars to one goal in the first half to hold a 3-1 lead at the break. Providence opened the second half with two goals before Cody Malawsky took a feed from Noah Manning to give the Pioneers some breathing room. DU blew open the game in the final four minutes of the game when Malawsky scored yet again and Michael Lampert finished off the Friars with a goal with under a minute to go, 7-4 Pioneers. Denver will complete regular season play with a night game this Friday against Marquette at 7:00 pm MT at Peter Barton Stadium.
Keep winning in different ways!

Denver men’s tennis capped an undefeated regular season with a Summit League Tournament sweep to finish 23-0, 5-0. Nonconference wins over Purdue, Utah, Wisconsin and Oregon added credibility to their undefeated campaign, the only such accomplishment this season or by ANY NCAA DI squad since 2018. Denver put the exclamation mark on their perfect season with a 4-1 victory over North Dakota and a 4-0 sweep against host Drake at the Summit League Championships. First Round NCAA action will take place May 3rd through May 5th.
