LetsGoDU and Friends of DU Hockey have signed a NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal with DU goaltender Matt Davis. The Most Outstanding Player from last season’s Frozen Four in St. Paul, Minnesota, Davis’ signature will be reproduced alongside artwork on a one-of-a-kind commemorative championship hockey jersey. All proceeds from the sales will be distributed between DU Hockey and Davis.
The exclusive hockey jersey will commemorate the ‘The Save’ by Davis. While Davis made numerous saves during the 2023-24 NCAA Tournament and the Frozen Four – an effort that tied Ken Dryden’s Frozen Four save percentage record – it was his sprawling one-handed save in the final game that Denver hockey fans will always remember (relive it at the 5:00-minute mark in the video below). The DU netminder saved 67 of 68 shots in the 2023-24 Frozen Four Tournament as Denver secured their record 10th National Championship.
