It’s almost become ho-hum but it is an outstanding achievement by DU athletics. After reviewing the final season-ending rankings, the University of Denver has won the I-AAA (Division I, non-football schools) Director’s Cup once again for the 2024-25 season. This marks the 12th straight year and 16th out of the last 17 that DU has won the award. It’s getting hard to calculate and track how dominant Denver has been over the past couple of decades. Overall, DU finished 56th in the final 2024-25 Learfield Directors’ Cup standings.

The Learfield Directors’ Cup is a points-based competition that recognizes the top athletic programs in the nation across various sports. The University of Denver’s strong showing in the 2024-25 competition is a result of NCAA Tournament appearances by men’s and women’s tennis, women’s golf, women’s lacrosse, and skiing. Hockey and men’s soccer, of course, each advanced to the NCAA Tournament semifinals, and gymnastics advanced to the NCAA regional semifinals.
Bet all those other schools are glad DU doesn’t have a football team anymore!
There are 56 schools that are D-I with no football (D-I AAA).
Here they all are:

All of them look up at the Pios, every year.
Bravo.
Puck, looks like closer to 100 teams. Being in the Summit pretty much guarantees DU a lock in tennis and golf. I say pretty much because we didn’t win in men’s golf.
Two months of silence….. everything OK?
Less than two months til they drop the puck !
It’s all good. Just taking a summer break to charge up for the 2025-26 year.
