The University of Denver’s first official sport was baseball, launched in 1867. After 130 years, the school dropped the sport in 1997. The ‘grand old game’ is alive once again in Denver with the sale of an exclusive vintage baseball jersey by LetsGoDU.
The high-quality throwback crimson and gold jerseys feature twill lettering and patches. A Boone & Bonnie Colorado patch celebrates the home state of Colorado and the evolution of men’s and women’s sports since that time.

The left sleeve has a patch which shows the years DU offered baseball (Below).

A subtle red rose over the heart pays homage to head coach Jack Rose and, of course, the Denver Rose. Jack Rose coached DU baseball for 36 years and racked up an astounding 785 wins during his coaching tenure. He hung up his jersey for the final time in 1997 and ranked fifth on the NCAA’s Division II list of winningest coaches in history. Rose passed away in 2018.

$25 from the sale of each jersey – all profits – will go to Denver Hockey. Sizes come in adult and youth and will be offered for sale for the balance of this year. Orders will be batched and delivered in 3-4 weeks from order placement. Orders include a front and back number of your choice, and you can choose to add a name on the back.

The jerseys are a perfect outer layer for cool fall nights or as a casual dress option with jeans or shorts. Or, ideal for a family headed out to a game.

These custom vintage baseball jerseys are made and marketed by the Friends of DU Hockey and are not licensed by the University of Denver. Friends of DU Hockey is not an agent of the University of Denver.
