Denver men’s basketball left Sunday for France for a four-game set. LetsGoDU will have exclusive player coverage of the trip. Head Coach Jeff Wulbrun sees the trip as a reward for his team and an opportunity for players to gain valuable practice and playing time in France against four experienced teams. More importantly, Wulbrun sees this as an opportunity to build team chemistry which is sure to benefit the team during the 2022-23 season. Denver is also integrating eight new players onto the squad. Transfer Portal Exodus Hits Summit League Men’s Basketball Teams Hard
Welcome to basketball transfer portal season once again. While the numbers change by the hour, as of this writing, 638 players have entered their names in the Division I men’s basketball portal already this year. This does not include players who have exhausted their eligibility at the end of this past season. KJ Hunt Going Pro, Departs DU
KJ Hunt played a big part in the Denver men’s basketball turnaround this past season. Hunt announced his intention to turn professional, however, forgoing his extra COVID season. Hunt averaged 15.1 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, along with 103 assists, all team-leading numbers for the Pioneers.

Second Half Surge Pushes NDSU Past DU in Summit League Tournament
Back in October, DU’s senior transfer KJ Hunt talked to the Denver Post about winning an NCAA bid for DU. “It’s not impossible. At all.” A 30-10 outburst by the NDSU Bison broke a tie in the final ten minutes of the Summit League quarterfinal game and ended those dreams. Denver led at halftime 35-32 but the Bison depth finished off the pesky Pioneers, 82-62. While the game was much closer than the final score would indicate, NDSU clearly had the better, deeper team. Denver still has much work to do before they can take the next step in their evolution under head coach Jeff Wulbrun, associate head coach Brandon Dunston and assistant coach Rob Zewe.
