Last night, the University of Denver Pioneers hockey team topped the Wisconsin Badgers in a wild 6-5 game. For the first time all year, the Pios scored more than 4 goals in a game, but also, this was the first time all year that they gave up more than 3 goals defensively. So in a sense, this game was a bit of a 2016 anomaly for the Pioneers.

DU plays CC next weekend in a home-and-home series to get the 2016-17 edition of the Gold Pan Rivalry started. Friday night’s game is at the World Arena in Colorado Springs at 7:30. The Pios and Kittens come up to Denver Saturday night at 7 PM at Magness.
