DU owns the winter. Hockey is ranked #1, Denver lacrosse is ranked #3 in the USILA poll and gymnastics is ranked #7 – their second highest ranking ever.
DU hockey is loaded with talent. This week American hero Troy Terry was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the NCHC and Henrik Borgstrom Rookie of the Week.
DU has the best college athlete in Colorado. This according to Mile High Sports which named DU’s hockey captain Will Butcher College Athlete of the Year in a great article.
Colorado weather is crazy. Yesterday, 65 degrees in Denver with 70-100 MPH winds. Crested Butte ski area was closed due to too much snow.

You can spend a day with National Champions. Take the ski train to Winter Park and spend a day on the slopes with the Denver ski team.The team is hosting a day of skiing January 21st with lunch. They just keep winning. Denver swimming and diving continues to excel with the men ranked 21st in the country and the women ranked 22nd according to College Swimming.
DU gymnastics is great – again. So how good is DU gymnastics this year after losing national champion Nina MaGee? In DU’s first meet of the season against Minnesota, Denver racked up 195.875 points— DU’s second highest team score ever. It looks like four new freshman are helping to make up for the loss of the graduated MaGee.
