Colorado College hockey head coach Mike Haviland is busy preparing his team for an exhibition in Breckenridge this Saturday, September 30th. The Breckenridge ski area rolled out the red carpet for the Tigers practice and fired up the artificial snow machines.
When asked about his team’s preparation for the University of Lethbridge, he said his squad needs to improve on moguls. While most participants struggled, only team captain Tanner Ockey (Calgary, Alberta) and assistant captain Andrew Farny (Steamboat Springs, Colorado) seemed to excel on a variety of terrain. However, both claimed to be better on powder than ice.

When asked about his team’s specialty? “Downhill – ever since I have been here. We need the practice time”, said Haviland. “We are the youngest team for the fourth straight year – go figure.”
Haviland voiced only one concern about Saturday’s exhibition, “Yea – these boots are killing me!”
