LetsGoDU Founder Damien Goddard Auctions Flight Suit to Benefit CC Hockey

The original Damien Goddard flight suit featured in LetsGoDU on December 31st, 2021 is up for auction on eBay along with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. The auction ends in eight days. The public auction comes with a twist – all auction proceeds will go to Colorado College Athletics for hockey player recruitment.

“Let’s help bring hockey back to the Springs.”

According to the deed of gift, the proceeds from the winning bid will go directly to Colorado College Hockey to “elevate player recruiting to create a more respectable front range hockey program capable of playing competitive hockey against other front range rivals to the benefit of college hockey fans everywhere.”

The authentic artifact will be offered on eBay to the highest bidder.

Goddard, a corporate entrepreneur, and sportsman, further requests that all bids include the number ’57’ in honor of Colorado College’s last national championship in 1957 (example: $7.57, $57.00, $1,000.57, $57,000). Goddard noted, “This was also the same year the Soviet Union entered the Space Age by launching Sputnik I, the world’s first artificial satellite – a month later Sputnik 2 with a dog! In my opinion, improving CC hockey is no less significant than sending a dog into space.”

The eBay auction will only run for eight days for this one-of-a-kind item. This auction marks a worthy cause from one of DU’s most venerable alumni.

Denver men’s hockey faces Colorado College Friday night at Magness Arena at 8:00 pm MT and will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network. DU travels to Colorado Springs on Saturday night for the second half of the first home-and-home of the season between the rivals.

  1. Way to go Damien !!! All Class all the time. Now work on sending Boone into space. It’s a damn shame DU cannot appreciate a marketing genius and ultimate DU hockey fan. Thanks Damien for a good laugh.
