DU’s Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse NCAA Tournament Matchups Set

It was likely that DU men’s (11-3, 5-1) lacrosse would play at home but a mystery if Denver women’s (15-3, 5-0) lacrosse team would be home or have to go on the road for the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Sunday night during the selection show, both teams learned their fate.

The 2024 NCAA women’s lacrosse tournament features 29 teams, with the top three seeds receiving first-round byes and 8 seeded teams. Denver was 10th ranked going into the BIG EAST Tournament and was unable to crack the Selection Committee’s Top 8 seeds.

Denver women are unseeded and face Stanford on Friday, May 10th at 2:00 MT in Evanston Illinois. Denver’s defeated the Cardinal 10-6 March 17th at Peter Barton Stadium. The winner gets a tough draw and faces #1 Northwestern in the second round.

The men’s NCAA lacrosse tournament features 17 teams, a play-in game and 8 seeded teams.

Denver men were assigned the #5 seed, higher than most expected, and face Michigan 3:00 pm MT on Saturday, May 10th at Peter Barton Stadium. The winner faces #4 Syracuse or Towson. Season ticket holders can secure seats on Monday while non-season ticket holders go on sale Tuesday at 8:00 am.
