Out of respect to our readers, we have always tried to maintain neutrality. There is a difficult decision to be made this time and the impact is significant. After careful thought, our vote is clear. With little time remaining, it is time to take a stand — as difficult and controversial as it may be. One candidate ‘has been there, done that’ and the other is new and offers different ideas. However, after careful deliberation, we are ready to make a public endorsement.
Our choice is the Matt Davis NIL commemorative jersey which you can buy at the store at this link. We are excited to support a student-athlete like Matt Davis, a 3-time NCHC All-Academic member in Sports Marketing as the Frozen Four’s Most Outstanding Player for last season’s national champions. This is a great way to not only celebrate the Pioneers’ record-setting 10 championships and 75 years of Denver hockey, but to also show tangible support to a worthy student-athlete.
Traditionalists may favor the Denver Boone jersey (below) which will also benefit DU Hockey. The custom sweater shows Denver Boone in a classic pose, similar to the original Boone-faced jerseys worn by DU hockey players in the 1970s and very early 1980s.
More than anything else, we encourage unity regardless of your final decision.

I’ve never been a big fan of Denver Boone. The hockey uniforms of the late ’70s were horrible. Bring back a retro Denver arch and I’m all in!
