St. Thomas to Join the NCHC in 2026-27

Per a surprising announcement on Wednesday morning, St. Thomas is bolting the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) ahead of the 2026-27 season. The announcement coincides with the rapid ascension of the Tommies from D3 status several years ago to a full-fledged Division I athletics program. Goddard Earns Guinness World Record on Longs Peak Spring Ascent – in Lederhosen

Registration Still Open for May 15th Hockey Awards Banquet

Just one week remains until the ten-time national champions Denver Pioneers hold their annual Hockey Awards Banquet and auction. The event is being held on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:00 pm at Magness Arena. It will be a magical night as head coach David Carle and his staff recognize the team and their record-breaking national championship during the 2023-24 season. Denver Hockey Announces 2024-25 Schedule, Wisconsin & Northeastern to Visit Magness Arena

The defending national champions, Denver Hockey, announced their 2024-25 schedule Wednesday. Denver opens the season with a trip to David Carle’s home state of Alaska on October 5th & 6th to face the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves. The Pioneers then return to home ice against Northeastern two weeks later.  The non-conference schedule is highlighted by a Wisconsin Badger trip to Magness on October 25th and 26th, followed by a road trip to face Yale on November 1st & 2nd. Sean Behrens Signs with Avs

Two-time NCAA champion junior defenseman Sean Behrens signed a three-year NHL deal with the Colorado Avalanche last night. He will begin his professional career with the Colorado Eagles of the AHL on an amateur tryout contract. His NHL deal will begin in the fall. Top 10 Reasons Couch Fires are All the Rage at DU

The tradition continued Saturday night as couches around the University and University Park neighborhoods met a cruel fate on the DU campus. Students were fueled by beer and a heady hockey championship win. As local custom would have it, IKEA, Henredon, and Floyd sofas met a fiery end. Perfect 10: Denver Pioneers Become Kings of College Hockey with Record 10th Title

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Michigan had a 26-year head start. It wasn’t enough. North Dakota had a chance. But too many near misses couldn’t hold off the greatest college hockey program of all time. On April 13, 2024, in front of 18,694 at the Xcel Energy Center, the University of Denver Pioneers punctuated their 74th season with a 2-0 shutout victory over #1 overall seed Boston College to finally overtake the Wolverines and win the coveted race to 10 national championships.
