DU Lax Powers Past Ohio State in Second Half, 15-6

Ten months ago, Ohio State came to Denver and surprised the Pioneers with a 5-0 first quarter scoring run at the NCAA quarterfinals. DU responded with a 5-0 run of their own and went on to win the game and advance, 15-13, to the Final Four and become eventual national champions.

Ohio State rolled into Denver Saturday afternoon with a chance to exact revenge. They hung close the first half, again, as both teams played stifling defense but DU’s offense got untracked in the second half. DU coasted to the 15-6 victory at Peter Barton Stadium. DU Stings Notre Dame in OT 9-8

“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
The hands can’t hit
What the eye’s can’t see.”
– Muhammed Ali

In another game for the ages, #2 ranked University of Denver knocked out #1 Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana in sudden death overtime. Zach Miller, DU’s overtime heavyweight, threw the decisive punch into the net to end the contest.

Today, it was Notre Dame’s time to feel the sting. Continue reading DU Stings Notre Dame in OT 9-8 →

In 2005, when the University of Denver’s Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium was built, it was hard to envision what would transpire over the course of the next decade.
