WATCH: Jim Montgomery discusses Finlay hat trick, Class of 2017’s legacy

Last night, the #1 University of Denver Pioneers topped the #18 St. Cloud State Huskies, 7-2. Freshman Liam Finlay notched a hat trick and Henrik Borgström added a highlight reel goal along the way. It was nothing short of the perfect way for this program to thank the graduating Class of 2017 for their contributions to this program.

DU head coach Jim Montgomery was very pleased with the Pioneers’ performance (have I said that before?) and seems to be excited about the fact that Denver is just one win away from clinching Denver’s first-ever Penrose Cup.

Watch what he had to say after the game below:

Denver ends the regular season next weekend at Omaha. As long as they don’t get swept, they will come back to Denver with the Penrose Cup as NCHC regular season champions.

  1. Hey there, I’m a regular reader on Letsgodu and I just wanted to put it out there that I have two extra tickets to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff. My folks are ill and can’t make it so I’m looking to sell these. They’re in section 113, Row Y, seats 1 and 2. These tickets get you into all four games. They’re good seats and very close to the concourse. They’re also the NCHC commemorative tickets and come with arena drink, snack, and NCHC Frozen Faceoff swag discounts. I paid $290 for the pair but would sell them for $275. My wife and I will be there in the other two seats as we go every year. If you’re interested or know of anyone interested, please contact me. Thanks, Dan Maddock 701-335-9035

    1. Hey Dan, would you mind if I publicized this on Twitter? We’ll probably be able to reach more fans from around the NCHC that way and I can get you in touch with anyone interested. Let me know.
