Bob Warming’s AARP Interview Cites Experience as a Winning Formula

The head soccer coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha (NOM), Bob Warming, talked to AARP Magazine (American Association of Retired Persons) about blending his experience with his team’s youth. Warming came out of retirement in 2018 to coach the Mavericks. Denver plays Omaha in a home-and-home series over the next four days. Denver needs just three points to secure the conference and NCAA bid while Omaha must sweep to keep its season alive. Here are a few highlights from the interview. Top 10 Things to do Without Denver in the NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament

10. Play the UMass-Amherst Drinking Game. Invite friends over and purchase a case of beer and shot glasses. Whenever the announcers say, “UMass” the first person to yell  ‘Amherst’ does not have to drink while the rest of the room takes a shot. Everybody drinks if the announcers say, ‘flagship’. Final DU-CC Series Canceled – Exclusive Photos Capture CC’s Final Game at Broadmoor World Arena

A cold evening greeted a fan who waited pensively for the doors to open for what turned out to be a final time.
Colorado College enjoyed the World Arena locker room for a final time – not knowing this marked the final night in the old barn.

CC salutes their fans with hopes of a Gold Pan return. It was not to be as DU won the coveted mining utensil at Magness Arena and the NCHC pulled the plug on the final DU home-and-away series.

Both teams will lace them up at the single-elimination NCHC tournament in Grand Forks in two weeks. Denver faces Omaha in first-round action.

DU vs UND: When Perception and Reality Collide

When head coach Dave Hakstol left North Dakota to lead the Philadelphia Flyers, a cleaner version of hockey was introduced by his replacement, Brad Berry. But, in some ways, the Fighting Hawks have returned to their old tricks under Berry with a slash here, a boarding there, an extra shove, and a trip to lead the NCHC in penalties with 248 total minutes spent in the sin bin. Denver sits in sixth place with 156 minutes in the box. In comparison, UND’s top five offenders have spent 131 minutes in the box, double Denver’s total of 66.
