Soccer Teams Drop First Games of the Season
Both DU men’s and women’s soccer fell in the past week to Portland and Colorado, respectively. The men’s team then followed their loss with a heart-stopping draw vs. Seattle on the road Monday night. Denver Soccer Teams Collect Four Shutouts to Remain Unbeaten
DU women’s soccer (4-0-4) continued their unbeaten ways. Thursday, they routed Colgate 6-0 at Pioneer Field. Liv Moritz, Samantha Dreiling, Camryn MacMillan and Sydney Sharp all scored along with Ella Frost two tallies. On Sunday, the Pioneers travelled to Eugene, Oregon to take on the Oregon Ducks. Star freshman Liv Moritz led DU with two goals in the second half while Denver outshot the Ducks 30-8. Denver Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams Complete a Solid Week
Denver men’s (2-0-2) and women’s soccer (2-0-4) had a solid week in non-conference action. Women’s soccer started their season with four consecutive ties. Then, last week they added two consecutive wins over Northern Colorado from the Big Sky Conference on Thursday and Sunday against North Carolina State from the ACC. The 2-0 win over Northern Colorado was expected but the 4-2 win over the Wolfpack was a big boost for new women’s head coach Julianne Sitch. DU Men’s Soccer Opens with 0-0 Draw Against San Diego State
Denver Men’s Soccer (0-0-1)opened their 2023 campaign at Pioneer Field against San Diego State University. While DU carried play for most of the match, the Pioneers failed to convert on several opportunities to score and came away with a draw on the night, 0-0.

DU Men’s Soccer Seeks Stability by Extending Jamie Frank’s Contract
We were not entirely surprised when Denver announced a multiyear contract extension today for head men’s soccer Coach Jamie Franks. With the current uncertainty around men’s soccer in the Summit League with the exit of Western Illinois, Franks had to be on the radar for any number of college openings and his players and recruits were surely looking for answers.
