There was certainly perfect fall weather, Homecoming food trucks, plenty of spirits were consumed, and even the 2022 NCAA Championship banner was raised to the rafters before the game.
But DU saved the best memory for last, as DU sophomore Jack Devine won the Saturday night game, rifling a 20- foot wrister to break a 2-2 tie just 1:15 into overtime, sending over 6,000 DU fans into a happy conclusion to Homecoming weekend, completing the sweep of the Providence Friars on the weekend in one of the more physical non-league series in recent years.
It’s not too late, you can still register for Homecoming events this week. Due to popular demand and to celebrate the ninth hockey championship banner being raised in Magness Arena before Saturday’s hockey game against Providence, we have extended the sale of the Commemorative Hockey Championship jerseys through Homecoming Week until the end of this month.
