On Sunday, the University of Denver Hockey Program released a short video showing the creation of the jerseys the Pioneers will wear on Saturday for the Battle on Blake. CC Named Most Unhealthy College in America
Their recruitment brochure sounds an idyllic call to potential students, “nestled at the intersection of nature’s call and urban sprawl. Care to pack into the Rocky Mountains … for your class? Whoa. I actually live here.”
However, in a newly released study by The College Report, Colorado College was named ‘the most unhealthy college in America’. The exposé points out an unhealthy environment at the liberal arts institution located in Colorado Springs, Colorado which is mostly to blame. Pio’s Lose in 3-Point Fest
The Pioneers hit twenty 3-pointers, a school record, and fell in a tight contest on the road to IPFW, 84-87.
The Denver Pioneers (13-13) dropped a road contest to IPFW (20-7) in Fort Waytne this evening. DU played the Mastodons (10-1 home) tough and made it a game. Max Landis for IPFW hit seven 3’s and Marcus Byrd hammered home eight trays from beyond the arc. Nate Engesser pumped in another six 3’s. The Pioneers shot an incredible 62.5% from three point territory while the Mastodons shot an even more unbelievable 66.7% from the arc. Denver Secures Sweep Over North Dakota

In a thrilling series, Denver swept No. 2 ranked North Dakota. After an energetic, emotional first game the Pioneers defeated the Fighting Hawks 4-1 in the second, calmer contest.
“I really liked the way we played. I thought we managed the play a lot better tonight. We didn’t give up odd-man rushes, they had to go through two-to-three players to make plays and that’s what you want against a team like North Dakota.” said Head Coach Jim Montgomery. Denver Tops North Dakota in Game for the Ages, 6-4

In one of the best games in the history of the storied rivalry between the University of Denver and the University of North Dakota, the No. 13 Pioneers held on to beat the No. 2 Fighting Hawks 6-4. It took a game-winning shorthanded goal from Quentin Shore and a game-sealing empty net goal from Danton Heinen, but the Denver Pioneers won one of the best games of the 2015-16 College Hockey season.

Inside Game Abandons Pioneers in 60-63 Loss
Thursday night, the University of Denver (13-12) fell to Western Illinois (9-13), 60-63 at Magness Arena.
The Pioneers had a chance to move to 14-11 and an excellent opportunity to finish the season 500 or better with three road games and one home game remaining. Instead, after losing to the last place Leathernecks at home, they board a plane tomorrow morning to play Oral Roberts in a battle to finish their 3-game road trip above 500. Rivalry Weekend: Full-Strength

The No. 13 ranked Denver Pioneers prepare to clash with the No. 2 North Dakota for their second time this season this weekend at Magness Arena.
Since the first series when Denver was swept by UND and again the following weekend against St. Cloud State, the Pios returned from winter break refreshed and energized. In 2016, Denver has recorded just one loss in their ten games since the ball dropped on 2015.
