CHICAGO – They did it. The University of Denver Pioneers are back on top of the college hockey world. Sophomore forward Jarid Lukosevicius scored a second period hat trick and junior goalie Tanner Jaillet made 38 saves as the Pioneers beat the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs 3-2 in the National Championship Game at the United Center. CHICAGO – After an outstanding junior season, one that will end tomorrow night in the National Championship Game, University of Denver goalie Tanner Jaillet has been named the 2017 recipient of the Mike Richter Award, given annually to the country’s best goaltender. CHICAGO – Will Butcher has been named the recipient of the 2017 Hobey Baker Memorial Award as college hockey’s national player of the year.
